A quiet origin. Surrounded by the weight of memory, the figure sits in solitude, formed by knowledge, shaped by experience. This is where the journey begins: in reflection.
The Becoming is a seven-part visual meditation on growth, memory, and the slow unfolding of identity. Each piece marks an inward state, moving from solitude, to multiplicity, and back again. The originals are erased, only the photograph remains.
The Becoming is a visual meditation on growth, transformation, and the continuous unfolding of identity. The series began as a personal moment of reflection, an acknowledgment of the people, experiences, and lessons that have shaped my inner world. The first piece, a library filled with real books and symbolic references, serves as a quiet genesis, honoring everything I’ve carried forward into my life.
Each piece that follows marks a stage in a journey, emotional, spiritual, and human. While the work is layered with symbolism, not all of it is meant to be decoded. Some elements are deeply intentional; others emerge intuitively through the act of creation itself. I’m often more interested in what the viewer brings to the piece than what I put into it.
The figures in the series are faceless or obscured, not as an absence, but as an invitation. I choose anonymity to reflect the privacy of my own internal world, and to make space for others to see themselves in the work. These characters could be anyone. They are everyone.
I’ve always been drawn to the number seven, a quietly recurring element in my life, and so the series follows a rhythm of seven: seven pieces, subtle visual repetitions, a progression of figures from one to many and back again. The final image returns to solitude. It’s set in a cemetery, but not one of endings. For me, The Quiet represents acceptance, closure, and the start of something new. The journey doesn’t end, it evolves.
I erase each piece when it’s finished. No originals remain. That impermanence is part of the work itself, letting go is the final gesture.

A quiet origin. Surrounded by the weight of memory, the figure sits in solitude, formed by knowledge, shaped by experience. This is where the journey begins: in reflection.

A dual presence. Two figures stand before a clock and a sealed vault, symbols of time, choice, and potential. A confrontation not just with another, but with the self.

A vast passage of repetition and uncertainty. As the figure walks deeper into complexity, the journey becomes less about escape and more about understanding the path itself.

The maze breaks upward. Doorways multiply. Shadows observe. At the center, a shift. A transformation begins, neither ascent nor descent, but both.

A face turned forward, obscured. For the first time, the figure meets the viewer’s gaze, but not fully. A gesture of vulnerability wrapped in secrecy. Who is revealed, and who remains hidden?

A table of many. A figure stands apart, looking back. Here, distance becomes definition. The space between selves, between belonging and becoming, sharpens into focus.

Stillness. A final figure stands among headstones topped with hats, remnants of former selves. The journey ends not with a conclusion, but with a whisper.
